AI PDF conversion guide

How teachers turn PDF question papers into exam questions, and why every question is checked first.

Draft. This page has not yet been reviewed by a qualified professional and may change before the site opens.

This tool is being built. This guide describes how it is planned to work and will be updated when it opens.

What it does

Upload a PDF question paper or study material. Lagatiyal reads the text, using text recognition (OCR) for scanned pages, and suggests structured questions: question numbers, the question text, options and answer keys where the paper includes them.

What it will not do

  • It never invents questions or answers. If the paper has no answer key, the suggested question has no answer until you add one.
  • It never publishes anything by itself. Converted questions stay as drafts until a teacher approves each one.

Reviewing the results

  1. Upload the PDF.
  2. Open the conversion review. Anything the tool was unsure about is flagged for you to check: a blurry scan, a missing option, a number out of sequence.
  3. Correct the text, options and answers, and approve each question.
  4. Only approved questions can be used in a live exam.

Assamese papers

Assamese text is kept exactly as it appears, in Unicode. Please check Assamese text from scanned papers carefully, because text recognition can misread similar-looking letters.
